Bee Pest and Diseases Workshop – Hosted by Cumberland Beekeepers Club

Saturday 25th October 2025 | 9:30am–4:00pm | Chifley College Bidwill Campus, Daniels Road, Bidwill

Cumberland Beekeepers Club is opening its doors to ABA members for a full-day Bee Pest and Diseases Workshop this October.

This is an essential workshop for anyone serious about maintaining healthy, productive hives. Whether you’ve been keeping bees for years or are just starting out, learning to recognise and respond to pests and diseases early can mean the difference between a thriving colony and a lost one.

Join us for an in-depth, practical session where we’ll cover:

  • American Foulbrood identification and best management practices
  • Varroa mite detection and response
  • Small hive beetle and wax moth, and how to protect weak colonies
  • The importance of biosecurity in backyard and club apiaries

Our presenters are three of Australia’s most respected voices in beekeeping:

  • Bruce White OAM – veteran apiarist and former DPI technical specialist
  • Miskell Hampton – bee biosecurity expert and educator
  • Dr Nadine Chapman – researcher and author on bee genetics and health

You’ll also receive a copy of the updated 2025 edition of the Healthy Bees AgGuide from NSW DPI.

Morning tea and lunch are included in your registration, and there’ll be time for Q&A, networking and hands-on demonstrations.

Cost: $80 Places are strictly limited. Pre-registration is essential to secure your seat.
