Mead Making Course

Have you ever wanted to turn honey into a delicious, handcrafted drink? Join the Cumberland Beekeeping Club for an engaging, hands-on Mead Making Course on 20th June and learn the art of creating one of the world’s oldest fermented beverages.
During this practical workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to make your own batch of mead. You can either bring your own equipment and ingredients, purchase them from us beforehand, or simply assist another participant and learn the process step-by-step.
What you’ll learn:
- What mead is and the different styles that exist
- The equipment and ingredients needed
- The full mead-making process from start to finish
- Flavouring options and additives
- Troubleshooting tips to help you perfect your brew
Instructor:
The session will be led by Matthew Reed, who hosts a monthly mead meeting for the Illawarra Beekeepers Club and brings a wealth of practical knowledge and experience.
Location:
The course will take place at the new facility at the farm of Chifley College Bidwill Campus, near Mt Druitt.
Cost:
- Course: $50
- Equipment kit: $85 (optional)
- Honey: $20 (2 kg; optional)
☕ Morning tea will be provided.
Club members receive a discount, so if you're not already a member, this could be a great time to join! Equipment must be ordered by 4th June.
