Where Is My Membership Card?

Some members asked why they have not received their 2025/26 membership card yet. 

The answer is relatively simple. AHBIC and Plant Health Australia are in the process of updating the 2016 Biosecurity Manual for Beekeepers to adjust for the new situation since Varroa is now endemic to Australia. The committee had hoped to include the new manual in the 25/26 membership pack and were awaiting print approval

The manual has been reviewed and endorsed by most stakeholder groups and AHBIC is comfortable with it. However, as the lead agency of the manual is Plant Health Australia we require their permission to print. We were expecting to get the green light in June, then in July. 

As we didn’t get the permission by August, we dropped the plan of a printed version of the manual and started to send out the first few batches till the old printer died. The new printer is on its way and we will send out the remaining cards as soon as possible.
