Far North Coast Beekeepers

Far North Coast Beekeepers is a regional club supporting practical, informed beekeeping across a large and diverse area of northern New South Wales.

Re-established in 2018, the club has grown to more than 60 beekeepers with members located from the Queensland border to near Yamba in the south and inland towards Tenterfield. Most members manage a small number of hives including some Flow hives, but with Langstroth hives the most common. 

The group also includes commercial beekeepers, adding valuable practical experience and balance. The club usually meets monthly, with club days combining a guest speaker and hands-on demonstration to strengthen member knowledge and practical skills. 

Since Varroa was detected on the Far North Coast in mid-2025, the club has placed strong emphasis on Varroa testing, identification, and practical biosecurity awareness. 

The club’s core purpose is to promote good beekeeping practice, reflected in strong attendance, active participation, and a focus on practical learning. All beekeepers will be welcome to visit us, if they are in the area.
